Just a dude doing his thing. I'm mostly posting photos that I take that are interesting to me.
I wish there was a setting I could use to block numbers not in my contacts from leaving a voicmail, and a whitelist that could be based on the LEC or something similar.

I have some simple advice. First, ask your dad how to safely handle them while he's alive. In a few minutes you should know enough to not be overly worried about shooting yourself. Second, it's good you're looking into your plan of what to do now. Personally I think your best option is to sell them.

I hate to agree with you on this. I've had some good personal moments and accomplishments in my life, but overall society and the state of the world are deteriorating.

Nice CRT. I still have a PS2 with a guncon as well as a NES with a blaster, but I have a tiny CRT so I end up emulating and using a Sinden to emulate the experience on a modern screen.

Nacho cheese is what I'd prefer even if ketchup is available.

I really want to explore more of New England to see if it's a place I could live. That being said, if I had to move right now I'd likely go overseas. I am a dual citizen with US and EU passports so it would be simpler than for most Americans.

Right. If anything, those questions are amplified beyond what is reasonable. They become even more absurd when compared to non-renewable, more ecologically harmful, fossil fuels.

I don't think this advice is directly linked to DEI. However, the opportunities for networking do benefit from it for those with less representation, as opposed to white men getting together to hire their golf buddies.

Being social for business is a skill that must be developed to succeed. It's not fair or easy but it's very useful to be able to fake being an extrovert sufficiently to get a job.

The name thing was my mother trying to be "creative" as far as I can tell. As far as the rest, I agree. Healthy, financially secure people can still be one medical emergency away from hardship. Acknowledging that takes nothing away from those already suffering.

Look at this as an example and tell me why we can't worry about the plight of the working poor and the elderly at the same time. eattherichtextformat.github.io/1-pixel-weal... There's a clear solution to these issues by restoring fair taxation of the rich.
Wealth, shown to scale
Wealth inequality in the United States is out of control. Here we visualize the issue in a unique way.

I'm responding because I think we should be on the same side. If you look into the wealth of the ultra rich compared to the average person there's such a stark difference that I can't help but lump an elderly person who will be broke when the first medical crisis hits with someone broke now.
December 27, 2025 at 6:36 PM
The problem is that she's not broke yet but it's clear she will be at some point, in a very vulnerable time period in her life. That is a lot of money for sure, but at the end of your life if you haven't obtained a pension or saved up a lot more money you're in trouble.

For me it's just a cosmic representation of astigmatism.
December 27, 2025 at 3:05 PM
The person in this article is already elderly. There's nothing she can do to "pull herself up by the bootstraps" and make it work. A younger person who is broke likely has better health and more time for things to improve.

Needs more AI in the plan if you want to get funded. An AI powered drain snake for your throat that has a camera and describes what it finds via an LLM.

I, too, have great memories of Street Fighter 2. There's a reason I bought a 3/4 size arcade of it for my game room and upgraded the controls. Unfortunately, what i really miss is playing it with my friends of the time. We've all gone our separate ways so it will never happen again.

The best way to fight off the darkness is to take concrete actions to improve things in your life. If the majority of society doesn't share your values then change it or find a new one.

I don't think the British are well known for their bread either, right? The baker in question should have kept his opinion to himself.

The last time I was in Japan it seemed like at least 75% of the tourists in the more popular places were speaking Mandarin. I wonder if this changes the overall trend long term or if it's just a small blip.

I disagree in that it even works for white people. It's just that minority groups are facing more of the brunt of the chaos and harm than white people.
