I stood there for 10 minutes and no one came. 😭 I hit the button like the directions said but nothing. I heard laughter from below but I didn't want to go downstairs if I wasn't allowed to, so I left. :( however I did look up and got a fright. Jumpscare in video. 11/end

THE IKEDAYA INCIDENT! It's now a restaurant but they honor the location with a recreation of the detailed reports of that night. Unfortunately I didn't get to explore much because of what happened there. I went in to try their gyoza they boaster on their site but... 10/?

To finish our trip to Kyoto is the anime Bucchigire. Although it took place in the past, many spots recognize the Shinsengumi legacy. Further ahead on Kamo River are the three street bridges, literally 1 2 3 streets. The characters fought there, as well as played a role in... 9/?

While the Ferrari sisters in Galilei Donna were sightseeing, they strolled alongside the Kamo River which is my favorite part of Kyoto I saw today with how serene it was. Even though the anime adds more futuristic buildings, it seems like Kyoto is a fusion of new & old 8/?

Straight down Shijo-dori road leads to Shijo Bridge where Hozuki and Cicinho meet after getting lost and finding things difficult traveling. Further down is Kawaramachi, which serves as an opening shot when they arrive in Kyoto. It seems to be taken from the road though :( 7/?

With all this mention of Yasaka, he must have a shrine dedicated to him... He does! The Kansai girls visit the shrine but not pray at it, this scene is Kawai. Not only that, the Ferrari sisters from Galilei Donna visited Yasaka Shrine as well! That's right, multiple anime in Kyoto. Tsuzuku~ 6/?

Even though Shioriko starts her performance at Ninenzaka, it actually takes place in Sannenzaka featuring Yasaka Pagoda Tower in the background. After this ends though they do visit the second world famous Starbucks location Betterbucks, lol. It was crowded so no inside pics. 5/?

We aren't finished with Dotonbori as there is a famous takoyaki spot with a giant octopus sign called Kukuru. No scenes have been posted yet but a Collab with them gives a keychain featuring the scene where you can barely manage to see what's happening. 2/?

As a bonus, here are the special collaboration standees features on the 38th or 39th floor I took. I didn't get the Collab lock because I ordered in advance as I wasn't sure if it would be separate or not, and they announced it days before it began. Still enjoyed the trip. 3/3 🧵

11/clarification I thought of last second/ I don't mean peek inside the rooms or the onsen. Visitors described a Chika shrine (which I saw briefly) and stamps. I wasn't going to barge into people's rooms for pictures lol I had thought of getting a room but it's $200 a night x.x

And it seems like everyone suggested they allowed visitors from their guides. Maybe things changed since these are a few years old? It's unfortunate and I feel awkward about the situation. Either way, I enjoyed my stay in Aqours City and hope to return again someday. 10/end

Now the unfortunate part. I went to Chika's house, a Ryokan Inn you can stay at, but I was turned away when I entered due to me being there to look inside and not a guest. I researched which properties didn't allow visitors (like Kurosawa house) 9/?

Also on Mito Beach were several sand scriptures of Aqours. One was even dated today! Actually what tipped me off was I wasn't the only one on the beach, there were five of us. One of them started writing Aqours and I followed suit. It felt like a tradition I had to do. 8/?

I took a bus ride to the Minaminoura Info Center that houses a myriad of Aqours memorabilia. It appears in the film briefly but is a hotspot for fans. The surprising thing is right next to it is the Kurosawa household, something I didn't consider but it's private property. 5/? 🧵

Even more from the Love Live! Sunshine!! Movie is the Riverside Hotel and Grandma cafe. Something that surprises me is how the series makes it look like everything is far away when they're super close together, which we can see in the next post. 4/? 🧵

There is also Nakamise Center housing a bunch of shops that appeared in the movie. Inside is a colored manhole cover featuring the Uranohoshi logo. Which reminds me of some manhole covers I stumbled upon while walking around Numazu. 3/?
