Here’s a quick pic. I know it’s mostly boobs but I’m not far below them at this point. #knitsky

Wonderful high tea at Bonappetea this morning. I had an iced mocha and it was all delicious. It also included scones with jam and cream. Beautiful surrounds too.

Hari te wiki o te Reo Māori. I’m embroidering a cotton jumper from an op shop. I’ve added the tino rangatiratanga flag to the back and am working on the ‘together for te Tiriti’ figures on the front.

I have plans for bands of tukutuku and kupu for the front too.

Mauriora.

Newly off the blocking mats is my Taniwha sweater. Pattern is Low Tide by Rachel Illsley, yarn is Wool yarns possum/merino/silk. It’s pretty cosy but not too hot. Good for early spring.

It’s cowl week for #showmeyourknits and appropriately cold weather for it in Aotearoa. Here’s my Dragon Tale cowl designed by Mary Hunt. A test knit from last year. It’s big and cosy and the burgundy yarn is a possum blend. I wore it to work yesterday.

Here’s another purple thing for #showmeyourknits. This is the Lace and Fade Boxy using tencel instead of mohair/silk.

I used five colours of Wollmeise for the fade. It worked well and is lovely to wear in warmer weather or for layering. #knitting 🧶

Something purple for #showmeyourknits is a hapkerchief. I started this knit at a workshop with Gudrun Johnston. Her spit splicing method is very nifty but I’m not sold on using w&t to avoid purl rows. #knitting

My newest cardigan is a lot of fun #showmeyourknits It’s the Heaven cardigan, but I replaced the back beading with a simplified version of the colourwork from the Art Nouveau cardi.

Yarn is mohair/silk held with tencel. The tencel adds strength for the beads.

My new toy is a hand painted dragon plying tool from @fiberygoodness.bsky.social
It’s perfect for plying bobbin ends in style. You can ply directly from it as well! They are for sale here: www.fiberygoodness.com/explore-the-...

#showmeyourknits fresh off the needles, DK gauge (knit with 4ply held double). Beeswax hat. Fast and delightful to knit. I’d highly recommend the pattern.

I love this pattern. I embroidered a version of it last year.

Here’s what’s on the needles for #showmeyourknits. It’s a mashup between two cardigans. Any guesses as to which? #knitting 🧶

Here’s a video showing it in action.

Green week you say?

Check out this illusion knit I made recently. It’s my own pattern for a koru. Knit in Wollmeise. 🧶

Chonky knits eh? I don’t have any photos of my recent chonky vest, but here’s some flip top mittens I knitted last year from chonky handspun yarn. They have thrums to keep my hands warmer on chill winter mornings.

I knit a Gulf of Mexico scarf from my handspun. It was a quick and delightful knit with two yarns held together.

After finishing half, I ran out of one of the yarns. So spun up an alternative to use for the other half. It’s very satisfying to be able to do that!

Sharing this recent finish again for #showmeyourknits
It’s a top which incorporates Copritavolo by Herbert Niebling. It has icord edgings for the neck and sleeves and a brioche split hem at the bottom.

Knit from 95g of Posh Yarn Cecilia. Some of the lace rows were over 1000 stitches!

Here’s the latest handspun after a bath and whack. Approx 400m/200g of floofy two ply.

I finished plying two bobbins. Each contained a 100g braid worth of singles. I finished one and had 60cm left of the second. I don’t think I’ve ever been that close before!

I finished spinning this yarn, wound it up and cast on Gulf of Mexico. However I’m going to rip it back partially and slow the rate of increases. It’s a very satisfying, quick snacky knit.

Hey #knitting friends, I finally finished my Niebling flutter top. It took nearly 6 months but I’m very happy with it. Amazingly it’s only 95g/1250m of laceweight yarn (Posh yarn Cecilia).

Pattern is my own, incorporating Copritavolo doily and Cecilia lace top.

It’s been too long since I spun anything. So I pulled this braid from deep stash. It’s a merino/milk blend called berry sorbet. It’s spinning up beautifully.

I’m back to working on this cable vest for spudlet. I love this colour of blue. The pattern was intense to begin with but is much more manageable now. I’ve still managed to miscross a bunch of cables (luckily noticed quickly)
