I bartended at a wedding a few years ago and the bride walked down the aisle to a string quartet playing "With Or Without You" by U2. What? Have you listened to the lyrics? Not a happily ever song.

Love this song! A stellar one hit wonder. So many great female pop hits from the late 80s.

That's true. Medieval people also believed that narwhal tusks proved the existence of unicorns.

I've had a couple of interactions with Newsom and he's an asshole. But, obviously, it's going to take an asshole of Trump proportions to fight against the current bullshit. If that means it's Newsom, I'll swallow my reservations and get behind him.

I recently sold some clothes to a vintage shop and the young ladies doing the buying were going on about how cute and "Y2K" everything was. Well, yeah. I'd been carrying all that stuff around for 25+ years, and apparently, it's all back in style right now.

This is fascinating information. I've wandered the campus of UCSC and thought it was lovely. I had no idea it was set up that way for an ominous purpose. I guess when you can hide authoritarian goals in a nice place, people are less likely to recognize it.
