Seeing that "best version" nonsense:

(2/2) strange map stuffs happen where my map position was outside the map or some rooms would duplicate or certain markers would go behind a room instead of vanish once I completed those quest bits.

Also, the down-dash is funky and does not care what you want, it does as it pleases!

Steam, yep. For what it's worth, I didn't encounter the softlocks that other people did, but I also read that most issues with the game were in the PC version!

I did, however, experience having to reset my game because of some weird, shrill tone that kept duplicating itself once. I also had (1/2)

I'm giving it a 6/10. I could write a lot of stuff about it, but it's a mostly okay game with frustrating moments, frustrating design/mechanic decisions, and hilariously easy boss fights in some cases because of poor planning.

It's currently #72 on my Ranked Metroidvanias List!💜

Seriously, every time I get through that game, I sob intensely and last time, I made my partner cry because of how bad I was crying.

I looked up misophonia, and I feel like I deal with something similar with a very specific sound, although that sound results in a kind of severe discomfort and nausea.

The sound? Any equivalent to Sommie's walking sounds in Fire Emblem Engage. I played most of the game with the sound muted!

As a big fan of both (games and horror!), I think the Pokemon iteration wins, but the first "Ash" I think of when I hear that name is "Ashley", which reminds me of...

I watched my partner play through this fight and I can say for certain, that was an excellent fight to watch!

There was definitely some frustration with backtracking, since the expectation was to travel back and forth across that large main expanse to get from one side to the other, but it wasn't always obvious where you should be going next, so lots of aimless wandering ensued!

I have severe arachnophobia, but for some reason, outside of the spider farm at the beginning of the movie with real spiders, the obviously fake spiders throughout the movie didn't bother me at all and I had fun with it! But also, I don't think I'd try and go back to watch it again.😅🪦
