That’s true! I was thinking module sides because one day I’d like to have a room where I can have a few shelves running around the edge to do a long layout in N of the Peninsula Corridor 🚂 (late 80s-90s so I can run Caltrain, UP and SP trains)

Picked up an old Atlas 1920s Sears style house kit in N Scale while I was visiting a train shop in Yuba City. 🏠🐜

Got a greater appreciation for Walthers’ kits, which have illustrated instructions whereas this kit was all text safe for a couple of pictures to show how to install the window glass 😰

got a folding banquet table in the garage, so figured if I was making ~80" long, ~14" deep sections, I could put two back to back and connect on either end to make a loop

But that's a good idea, maybe just make a single straight shelf module and dog bone either end (it's double track, so not hard)

Chase Sapphire Reserve is pretty decent IMO, no-thought daily card that earns decent points in several categories.

If you're traveling a ton, you could get away with an AMEX Platinum, but without, you'd need to supplement with a Gold card as well for groceries/dining points

maybe do some sort of FreeMO/T Trak hybrid?

I make two long shelves of track and connect them with endcap module pieces ala T Trak to make a temporary oval, but if/when I get a place with more space, I can mount them together and make it longer 🐶💭

as I ponder this more I realize that hmmm, I don't want a loop

Ideally I'd want like 30' of track so it takes some time for a train to go end to end, so a loop is the next best thing

buuuuut I'd rather model a small slice of life around the track than an entire oval, to include the inside 😩

fiddling around in AnyRail with this idea of a loop layout in N Scale. 🐶💭🚂

Using Atlas' curved turnouts on one end, you COULD squeeze in 4 tracks with ~64" of near-straight track between each curved end of the loop which would fit an 8 or 9 car consist to zoom through or stop at the platform(s)

if they're not tuned into tech stuff, they may not know what the watermark is in some defense, and the watermark-less cute animal genslop has fooled a lot of people (I've seen a few in passing and scrolled past, but didn't immediately assume it was slop)

I've heard "comparison is the thief of joy" a lot, but I think I prefer "don't compare your insides with others' outsides"

(especially with social media, any comparison you're internally making against someone could be a super curated, very superficial concept of that person)
