I would bet some people think I do this stuff just for attention, and while I do enjoy looking for photos of myself after the fact, it's more than that. I like to show up at a protest in a way that's fully representative of me

I'm done with people trying to dictate to others what forms of expression and self-understanding are valid and meaningful and which ones are unserious or "just a hobby," particularly in the queer community. No one gets to decide who you are, how you exist, or how you want to be seen but you.

Wearing a fursuit to a protest doesn't have to mean you don't take the issue seriously. It can mean that your furryness is core to you and your beliefs and important enough to you that you won't hang it up even when it makes you more identifiable.
