Liberal, old, childless cat lady living on the West Coast. Interests: quilting, genealogy, gardening, reading, cribbage.

The "52" in my username is NOT my age. No DMs. Also: don't follow me with the belief that I'll donate to your cause, whatever it is.
Going thru some old computer files & ran across this one from 2013. Some things just never change.

Genealogists often find bad things about their ancestors, like how sadistic this distant cousin of mine was. This is from his 1801 ad offering $$ to anyone who'd return his runaway slaves. (this is from a website called "The Geography of Slavery" and is an interesting / sickening read)

Astoria, Oregon NO KINGS Day. This is just a small portion--the crowd lined one side of Marine Drive for about a mile.

The Devil in the White House apparently doesn't know that there's also a "devil in the details." Per capita, Canadians spent over 7 times as much on American products in 2024 than Americans spent on Canadian goods. I doubt very much that we'll get those loyal Canadian customers back.

Another Caturday Night, and I aint got ... well, nothing better to do than to take a picture of my cat and her box. I'm thinking of keeping it to take up residence once we're in another GREAT Depression (is THAT what he meant when he said he'd make America GREAT again?).

I'm sure they're all worthy causes, but is anyone else getting tired of the phrase:

Recipe from the 60s. I couldn't find any Kraft Old English or Roka Cheese this year, so I used President brand "Pub" cheese and some crumbled Blue Cheese (preferred to Roka anyway). We always lightly toast the nuts and then chop them finely in a small food processor. Makes abt 5.

Apparently someone has copied my account name, except they show a small sun emoji in front of the name. I have reported to moderation.

Quilting: where you take larger pieces of cloth & cut them into small pieces to sew them together to make a large piece of cloth. It keeps me out of mischief. This pattern is called Storm at Sea.

Seeing a lot of "Invalild Handle" notations & some for well-known media figures. Urging new users to check their profiles.
