For the penultimate weekend in the #UpHellyAa season in #Shetland it was glorious weather for the procession of 500 torches and galley burning in Cunningsburgh last night 🔥 And it’s always good to connect with friends in community halls across the South Mainland through the night 🚌🕺🍻🥳 #SMUHA

We’ve been blessed with clear skies day and night this last few days. Tonight we can enjoy this month’s #FullMoon - the #SnowMoon that rose behind #Lerwick Town Hall earlier. Away from the streetlights of town, the bright moonlight spills across the landscape and open sea 😎 #Shetland

For the record… There may be clear skies and low winter sun elsewhere but today #Shetland is the warmest place in the UK 🇬🇧🌡️ 🤗 It’s also the most driech ☔️ though I’m not sure the @metoffice.bsky.social keeps records of ‘dreichness’ 💦☺️

I’ve visited the spectacular sandbar - a tombolo - at St Ninian’s many times. It’s a wonderful open space and a popular place for locals and visitors alike. I’m no MI5 spy, but it wouldn’t be my choice of location to try and bump somebody off … 🔫 🫣 #Shetland
