when will my husband, Rude Dog, return from war?

This. Most of us don't need half the shit we think we do.

Day 8:

Starburst Fruit Chews, 1982

Remember getting Starburst in your trick-or-treat bag before they were sold in 2-pc "Fun Size" packs? We've been so conditioned that loose, individually-wrapped Starburst just seems suspicious. Like clowns.

Each one was like a tiny gift to reward yourself after a hard night’s work trick-or-treating. The anticipation of ripping it open to see what treasures await!

If you were a crow I imagine these would be the baubles I’d find in your nest.

But the most fabled among trick-or-treaters were the houses that gave out a carefully-curated assortment of candy and trinkets tucked into one of these little paper bags.

I also loved getting stickers in my trick-or-treat bag. I bought some this year to hand out to the kids I recognize from around our neighborhood. (Just the non asshole ones, though.)

Good call. I can feel the discomfort on my gums.

Depadieu is a total creep but this movie is full of NYC apartment porn so I kinda of love it for that alone.

Cool plastic rings were always top tier loot for my trick-or-treat bag. It was always nice to get a few surprises mixed in with all that candy.

What were some of your favorite non-candy treats?

Day 7:

Hormel Frank 'N Stuff, 1987

This visual of Frankenstein in a lab turning hot dogs into cash is one of my favorite Halloween things ever. Frank 'N Stuffs featured "a tunnel of cheese or chili inside a Hormel hot dog."

Day #133: New Kids On the Block--The Animated Series (1991)
An orange plastic lunchbox with the illustrated images of the 5 members of New Kids on the Block, avec mullets and incredibly 1991-style outfits. The background is a perriwinkle color, and has images of guitars and TV sets

That…makes a ton of sense, I don’t know why I didn’t think of that.

One in a million shot but it wasn’t called Brooks was it? That’s my version of your mystery store that I only recently learned the name of.

But…then how do you know you didn’t actually see it in the phone book? I’m really invested in this for some reason, lol. I love solving petty mysteries from childhood.

As far as I’m concerned, #Batman 1989 is a Halloween movie. At least as revealed in these deleted scenes depicted in the trading cards.
