also i know _some_ artists like working w/ loose guidelines,"do what you want", but in my experience most really thrive having as much detail as the commissioner/client can provide, so they can focus all their energy on nailing all the implementation details to the best of their ability.

ive sent artists stick figures, photobashes, doodles over existing art, and JustSketchMe poses, and while i always fear it might come off rude/condescending (like quoting WebMD to a doctor), almost w/o fail artists seem happy to have some barebones visual reference to illustrate my idea
