Oo! Interesting #GravitationalWave candidate #S251112cm potentially from a *subsolar* mass source

If real, the source is probably has chirp mass ~0.1–0.87 solar masses

False alarm rate 1 in 6.2 yr

Looking for multiband gravitational-wave sources in #LISA data - a needle in a haystack problem!
Shichao Wu presented a search for stellar origin binary black hole signals in LISA & next generation ground-based detectors (LISA+3G) with pyCBC.

We think this is a great occasion to show you the first images of the new LISA Spacecraft. The ESA led mission is now in the co-engineering phase. The instrument of LISA, provided by national space agencies across Europe and beyond, will be integrated by the primary contractor OHB SE.

We are excited to release a major update to our catalog of binary black hole simulations, available at arxiv.org/abs/2505.13378! Such simulations are key to LIGO/Virgo/KAGRA being able to extract science from their gravitational wave detections.

Interested in the future of gravitational-wave astronomy?

Cosmic Explorer, the proposed US 40 km gravitational-wave observatories will observe millions of compact-binary mergers throughout the Universe and cosmic time.

CE will hopefully be joined by the Einstein Telescope and space-based LISA.
