I only met Dr. Darren Markland a few times, but he made an impact on me. This clip from coffee outside (with Darren giving away free coffee from his bike-mounted coffee-maker) offers a glimpse into how he viewed cycling and community as interwoven. I'm so sorry for his family and community.

Millions of people around the world receive incentives to ride their bikes to work. So why aren't you?
New video about to drop: youtu.be/YbRV9q0ViCE
Here's what's stopping more bicycle commuting incentives

On one level, I thought we were past this kind of blatant suburban-voter pandering.
On another level, based on the pace of bike-land construction over the last four years, I'm not sure I would even notice a freeze.
Either way, sigh.

It's been around for decades, but the recent revival of @criticalmassyyc.bsky.social has helped me finally understand the importance of Critical Mass bike rides.

I changed my mind about these bike protests

Did you ever wonder what might happen if the debate over bike lanes came down to which side has better evidence? Well, in this case, it did.

I had an embarrassing number of photos and videos on my phone of me with the bike. But this is also another reason to register your bike.

This is great, thank you. Talk of things like "stormwater management" and "bioswales" is fine, but what I get excited about in Montreal (beyond bike lanes, of course) is trees, trees and trees. Trees might be the beast way to get non-urban nerds to care about this stuff. Trees make life better

This is great. I may try this. Thank you.

New video about to drop: I nearly had my bike stolen, and it was a wake-up call for keeping my bike secure in ways that don't frighten my away from riding

This bike theft trick almost got me. I had gotten complacent

Thanks Daorcey! I'll check those masks out. I haven't explored them too deeply yet.

I don't know about the mask, but that bike is 👌

Yes we do! Especially in the suburbs

I finally looked into the risks of riding a bike through wildfire smoke, and, folks, it ain't good. (No, cartoonishly large heads are not one of the risks)

I think a lot of people have lower seats when they are nervous about being able to put their feet down when they stop. You see a lot of people on ebikes riding like this as well, and I suspect the extra weight makes them want to get their feet on the ground quickly.

I’m so blown away by the size and fun vibes of Critical Mass rides these days. It gives me so much hope! @criticalmassyyc.bsky.social

This is the correct answer. It's the generic corporate-speak-AI-spam that made me laugh.
shifter.info
Third option: Spam, legit email written by an AI, or just corporate speak?
shifter.info
Having just spent a week emailing with somebody who turned out to be a robot, I'm proposing a new game: Is this spam or a legit email that just happens to have been written by AI?

The word 'grift' is doing a lot of work in this comment.
