So, I thought about, what would be a better way to end the call?

Maybe something like, "I'm sorry I couldn't help you solve your problem." Then, I might be inclined to say something like, "Thanks for trying and thanks for the referrals."

I'm not a customer service person, but I am focused on Healthy Workplace Culture (and Worldview Intelligence) and good communications - especially for challenging situations or conversations. I would not recommend someone end an unsatisfactory engagement with "Have a nice day!"

And, they wished me a nice day. 🤷‍♀️ I wasn't feeling it. In fact, now I was feeling more irritated.

This was not the first time I had this experience, leaving a customer service call very unsatisfied.

"Have a nice day!"

I'm not happy. Not upset at the person I'm talking to and not happy.

They ended the call with, "Have a nice day!" 🧐 Really?!

They couldn't fix my problem. Now I was going to have to make an unexpected and unknown expenditure - at Christmas. ...

Which undoubtedly means spending money on fixing the TV or buying a new one. Not what I wanted to hear. Also, not the fault of the customer service rep.

They provided me with one name. Then another. Then offered to provide a third - by this time I am no longer interested - and...

The representative suggested I plug the TV into another outlet - which I had already done but, sure, why not?

No surprise, it didn't work.

The only thing left for this representative to do, was provide me with names and numbers for local authorized service representatives....
