Additionally, extra credits go to the folks working on Mega Man 8-Bit Deathmatch, from which I borrowed the sprite used for the top of the tiles Air Man is walking on:

The original fansong cover art, for comparison.

I tried my best to try and replicate the style as best I could through digital art, though it's far from perfect. Even so, I'm happy with the result!

I just hope the developers over at Sandfall Interactive don't take the online Gamer Rage™️ too hard. They all did a great job, and I'm looking forward to what they'll bring in the future.

thank you for listening to this raccoon yap 🦝

Final note: it really sucks that a lot of discourse around E33 right now is negative, because it's not even the game or the devs' fault. E33 earned that Game of the Year trophy fair and square, even if I personally think other nominees deserved a good number of its wins in other categories.

It's just a dumb awards show and no one should put significant stock in what comes out of it... but when there's no other major stage for games anymore, it becomes significant enough to be considered an authority, and it falls to them to better represent games as a whole.

What grinds my gears is the TGA is peddled as a celebration of gaming when all that gets celebrated are committee-mandated industry darlings, and the actual community has practically no voice beyond a single category (that's usually just flocked by gacha game players desperate for free pulls).
