I’m upgrading from a VST precision portafilter basket to an IMS Big Bang basket. The VST has evenly spaced holes while the Big Bang has holes spaced more closely together toward the center and farther apart toward the edge. Supposedly it helps reduce channeling.
And for $22, I’ll find out soon.

The humidity in the house has been low, 30-45%, and the whole-house humidifier is out of service. This has really thrown off my espresso, I’m having to grind a lot finer to maintain the same shot times. Even then the extraction is still a bit off.

I need to look for a new primary care physician once I have health insurance again. My current PCP is a bit too motherly to the point of I don’t want to tell her everything. And that’s not good because I end up going to the urgent care when I’m sick instead.
