I wish I could contribute more to the initiatives trying to make up for the unjust grant cuts attacking important EDI projects in the US. But if you're now crowd-funding for a project and need someone to do graphic design for anything, message me and I'd be happy to volunteer my services

We humbly interrupt your scroll to bring you the news that Wisdom—the world's oldest known wild bird—is breeding again, age 74.

Go on girl. 😍
A screenshot of a social media post from USFWSPacific that reads:

"SHE DID IT AGAIN!

Wisdom, the world’s oldest known wild bird, is back with a new partner and just laid yet another egg.

At an approximate age of 74, the queen of seabirds returned to Midway Atoll National Wildlife Refuge last week and began interacting with a male."

This tweet is paired with an image of two Laysan Albatrosses at Midway Atoll National Wildlife Refuge. Wisdom, the oldest known wild bird, is shown alongside her new partner, demonstrating her enduring legacy as a remarkable seabird.

A giraffe weevil (Trachelophorus giraffa) from east-central Madagascar. This cool creature wouldn't stop moving , so photography was kinda like running alongside a car and shooting. A tiny red car unlike any other cars.... 🌿 #insects #invertebrates #InverteFest
A most unusual weevil poses on a green leaf. The wing covers on the abdomen are a brilliant ruby red, while the rest of the insect is shiny black. The thorax is angled to point up, and then the long, twig-like neck angles down to the horizontal - between the neck, thorax, and abdomen, there is a distinct bend in the animal's body. The head is small and two long antennae with reddish tips point forward in a wide V shape.

In the case of the kakapo, a viable population was discovered that could assist the recovery efforts so in my view, it still ties in with consistent species monitoring. As long as we have timely assessments, we can make predictions and act! This isn't my study, I just found it interesting :)

Coral fungus from Ranomafana, Madagascar. I don't know much about coral fungi but this one was just blazing next to the trail and I couldn't stop looking at it. #NaturePhotography #fungi 🌿
A small log is horizontal across the image and in front of it are two pink coral fungi, with a small green plant between them. The stems of the fungi are round in profile, and there are branches here and there.
