Little update: out of the 3 shades of red in this design, I’m completely done with 1 shade, have a big portion of the 2nd shade done, and haven’t touched the third. It’s starting to look bird-ish!
Progress of the cross stitch started in the quoted post. Most of the shape of the cardinal is there but the fun patterns Pigeon Coop bakes into his designs need to be filled in along with the remainder of the bird’s head.

I’ve added two more Hoyas to the mix! I’m obsessed with both of their leaves for different reasons. The velvety texture of the Nummularioides and the strong presence of texture in the albo Macrophylla within its veining. 💚💚
A Hoya Nummularioide in a hanging nursery pot. Its leaves are on the smaller side and have a velvety feel to them. A Hoya macrophylla albo. You can see the newest leaf on top has a pinkish/reddish hue that will eventually develop into a richer green with white margins.

It’s not perfect but for my first attempt at card making, not too shabby. I wish I would have had the right shade of distress oxide to shade the pot that way instead of using marker but oh well, lessons learned.

Good morning and Happy Halloween! Scary movies and a game night with friends later is just what the doctor ordered. Hope y’all have a great day!
Holding up a cup of coffee, which is in focus. Out of focus is my Halloween mantle and winerack. Same photo as before only the focus has shifted. The mantle is decorated with various jack-o-lanterns, candles, and a cascading garland. There’s a twig broom, a cauldron, and a basket of blankets on the hearth.

I love Hoyas so much 💚💚
My newest Hoya. It’s a Crassipetiolata. Hoya Carnosa ‘Green’ overflowing in a hanging pot. She’s full. She’s lush. She’s gorgeous. Hoya Obovata. The back pot and right pot was one small plant when I bought her. I split them up and both have done so well! I need to combine them and get a circular trellis for them to wrap around. Also propagating 3 sets of bigger cuttings that came from a friend. Hoya Compacta (Hindu Rope). She wasn’t even spilling over the top when I bought her and now she has very beautiful strands hanging outside of the pot.
