So...say I know a way we could trade their own store sign back to them....(Yes, the one that hangs outside of the building)

It birthed so many genres we have today.

Bless you

I need to get you up here to Game Trade and not the squallar up there. 3DS is kind of tricky to get now for bargain prices. Everyone is holding on to theirs like grim death it seems (me).

I may even have a spare GameCube. I know I have like 3 ps2 and 3 or 4 Ps1 and PSP. I just keep finding them around for cheap and scooping them.

I bet I could fix it with a doner drive. Consoles from that era are much more repairable. My original PS1 had to have its drive replaced for the same reason.

Speedtree is in their listed toolsets, and it's a program that has been around since the early 2000s. What I'm saying is I think that Steam disclosure might be misclassifying that as AI. Maybe they used both, IDK. I just think broadly lambasting AI when used ethically as a tool is just silly.
September 4, 2025 at 11:48 PM
I think it falls under the realm of say randomly generated rocks and stones on the ground. If it was hand done or AI generated it would not matter because 99.9% of people would not notice or care, so why spend the time on it. Just seems like a silly hill to die on for AI vs not.

Even if they did for that, I don't think there is any dev that wants to sit down and model individual leaf textures for a game where it's all just filler backdrop. It's a better use of time and resources on things that matter. If they were using it for UI or character models, then yeah, gross.
September 4, 2025 at 10:48 PM
I think that might be misrepresented, because it's just for the foliage. They are using Speedtree which is a tool for making foliage that has been around a long time and I don't think it qualifies as AI. Even if it is AI for leaves and bushes then that's actually a responsible use of AI as a tool.

I can keep an eye out. There is a non-zero chance they may appear at a Book Off. A place I visit frequently and many locations.

What task is there?

Taste my blade!

5 was rough because I think a large part of the team from the previous 4 games was disbanded due to a studio closure. So I more so recommend the 3 and 4 Switch remakes. However, 5 does seem to have all its performance issues fixed on SW2 when I booted it up to check! Runs at a locked 30fps.

We don't love things because they are perfect. We love them because they have flaws. That's character.

Yeah, that. You can set preferred audio, but that also runs into issues when I go from watching anime to Star Trek, and Star Trek also happens to have Japanese audio tracks.

I own a Deck as well, and I love it to death. But if they get much bigger and heavier, you can't hold them comfortably for long periods of time. The closer they push past that size envelope the closer you are to just setting a laptop on a flat surface next to you and using a standard controller.

I feel like we are losing the plot here. Remember when handhelds were something you could put in your pocket and take with you? At this size and power draw you might as well just have a laptop and a controller.

I would pay any number of dollars for this device.

Oh I'm sure I'll be in the store again next weekend to continue building up the Dreamcast collection as usual.

I was next to you at one of the booths along the left wall. I didn't say anything, because you were deep in a conversation with the vendor. Cool to bump into you on the floor though! Could have spent the whole 3rd day there too. Only Friday and Sat for me.

Yeah I saw his video on the project, and seeing it in person was really cool!

Not if I try harder.
