is it a dad thing or a smoker thing
shockpine.bsky.social
genuine question is it an all dads thing or just a my dad thing to put salt and pepper on literally all the food you eat no matter how inappropriate it is for the dish
shockpine.bsky.social
like its such a classic gaming thing to do. your sequel protagonist is a girl so you make all the characters girls. its like the guy being like "a normal man" and then the caption says "butch woman" and their jaw drops

finally done with silksong forever. or for a while. all i dont aim to do is steelsoul because i dont hate myself that much. at least for now. my final takeaway is that i love that the game's entire theme is girlbosses and girl power.

Made this joke to my girlfriend. She was like “do you … have an attachment disorder?” And I was like umm maybe I dunno probably
shockpine.bsky.social
God celeste rly tops any of the other games out there accessibility wise. So awesome
shockpine.bsky.social
Wearing a hat that says “has attachment disorder, do NOT accept romantic advances” but I can’t read so I’m like what does the hat say I don’t get it
shockpine.bsky.social
Which I do *not* mind a person choosing, but as a developer I think it would be hard to keep people interested when at *that* section in the game, the difficulty is the whole point
shockpine.bsky.social
Like I do think of any game Celeste is one of my faves when it comes to accessibility. Giving players access to straight up slowing the game down is kind of ideal, but I think in using that you lose some of the excitement.
shockpine.bsky.social
like i think with the lack of plot in those B/C-sides, the main thing keeping you interested is that emotional feedback of feeling rewarded for accomplishing something difficult! i think it would be difficult to keep people engaged for that long when they need assist active the whole time
shockpine.bsky.social
it does! but i've known ppl before who didn't see the point in doing all the levels where the entire point is that it's hard with assist mode on
shockpine.bsky.social
I dont think the entirety of the main plot was accessible to everyone even in that game with incredible options for that. For average players, the Farewell ending was locked behind doing all the B sides or whatever. That’s hard!
shockpine.bsky.social
So you want a tough as nails, rewarding platformer... that's completely accessible and everyone can have fun with it?
shockpine.bsky.social
lace 1 was a first try, lace 2 took me forever to actively learn all of her moves, lace 3 i was so powerful i didnt have to try as hard as lace 2
shockpine.bsky.social
cogwork dancers and lace 2 were my favorite silksong bosses
shockpine.bsky.social
haha thanks! that's what i care about more than anything
