Do you have multiple streaming subscriptions, cable and an MLB.tv subscription?

Don't plan on being able to stream the playoffs unless you're willing to pay up for even more one off services.

What a disaster for a sport that has the audacity to call itself America's Pastime.

Here is how the 426-card T212 Obak set distributes its 271 different subjects across the three years 1909-1911. For example, 32 subjects appeared in all three series while 55 subjects were 1910-only. Longer article coming soon.

Every name on the Tigers sounds like it was made up by a teenager trying to come up with something for a fake ID. Brant Hurter? Dillon Dingler? Colt Keith? Fake. Fake. Fake.

Honestly, if I had to pick just one set to spend the rest of my hobby life on, writing about it, researching it, collecting it, just staring at it, it’d be 1952 Topps. Nothing else comes close.

On this day in 1953, Mickey Mantle smashed a Russ Meyer pitch into the upper deck of Ebbets Field, becoming the fourth player in World Series history to hit a grand slam. Here’s my painting of the moment, based on the photography of Mark Kauffman. What a JOY this was to create.

Schwarber 56 home runs
Ohtani 55 home runs

This is the first time multiple players with 55+ homers made the postseason in the same season (Raleigh, too!)

which means the NLDS is the first series in postseason history with multiple players who hit 55+ HR that regular season!

Dr. Eric White is a top scholar on the Gutenberg Bible, but in his free time, he's been studying one of baseball’s biggest mysteries – Who are the unnamed artists behind the classic Topps baseball cartoons?

To the 800 triple plays in @sabr's database, today are added 60 from the Negro Leagues. A handful of these are outside the @mlb recognized period of 1920 through 1948. sabr.org/tripleplays

Bob Boyd was born 106 years ago today. We really should talk more about Bob Boyd. He’s one of those guys who got caught in the middle of integration, but just raked everywhere he went (and we have 7500+ at bats to prove it).

Bob Boyd was born 105 years ago today. A quick glance at his Baseball Reference page shows an interesting career. First, there’s 2 All-Star seasons in the Negro Lgs. But then he doesn’t play 100 games until age 37 in 1957. Overall, we see 11 seasons & a little over 2,000 AB. There’s more…
