I live in Berlin and among the living I adore the filmmaker Aparna Sen, terrence Malick and Hou Hsiao Hsien.

And the moral of the story is, a film does not belong to a streaming platform but to the big screen.

Today it is the 30th. anniversary of shomingeki, my filmmagazine. And by accident this day is as well the birthday of Terrence Malick. And also by accident I attended yesterday a long conference on German filmmagazines in Berlin.

My favorite film of the year, for sure, will be Village Rockstars 2 by the one and only Rima das.

Not that I am in the mood to celebrate the 30th. anniversary of my filmmagazine shomingeki, but at least it has its birtday at the same day like Terrence Malick.

In Springsteen: Deliver me From Nowhere there actually two refences to Terrence Malick, the one obvious is on Badland, a film very known as an inspiration for Springsteen. But I loved even more the other the other quotation which refers to The Tree of Life.

INTERVIEW: Plus: the character he had to change, the sequels that might come, and a banger of a cut scene.

Yup, and it's no easy task given that the Dylan one was really good, and there's obvious review bombing going on for political reasons since Springsteen stands for democracy and against fascism, whoch is considered a devisive stance in 2025...I hope that more people feel like you about this movie!

What I love or what moved me in Springsteen: Deliver me from Nowhere is not so much Springsteens struggle against his mental problems (which are well described in his autobiography. It is rather despite quoting films from terrence Malick and Charles Laughton, a very Ozu-like glance to details.

Happy Birthday, Aparna Sen! Her incredible Journey as a filmmaker began 44 years ago with one of the finest film debut in the history of cinema.
