Swore I'd use the death of twitter to stop scrolling and start writing and yet here I am
Skies getting good'n'Halloweeny and it's only the start of October

This looks like a much more satisfying way to get dinner than traipsing to the supermarket. Although I did get to watch this while traipsing to the supermarket

At least one of my nasturtiums survived the pigeonocalypse

New friend finally came out from the weeds enough to get his picture taken

This sunset that kept upping the ante until I was braced for a dragon to fly over the horizon

Raggedy robin that wanted to share cake crumbs

Rescue Echinops from the garden centre's half-price bench after an aphid infestation wrecked its leaves recovered well and made a lot of bees very happy

Good year for apples and butterflies. For the apples, thank the weather, for the butterflies, the fact I finally convinced my neighbour to stop cutting the buds off his buddleia, on my side anyway

Picture time, people. Needed to remind myself of the good stuff and in a Sunday night sharing mood. First up: sunsets and happy dogs

Fantastic, fun, highly energetic gig by Ezra Collective at FBTS. Great party atmosphere and got to walk home under a massive moon with the plough looking super twinkly

At least I only had 2 metres to lurch to fetch the beans. Now, about these pods and the correct bin allocation...?

Geopolitical situation prompted a Four Lions rewatch. Remains excellent. Found it in the box with the rest of the 'Twelve Films of Christmas' mini festival I made for my folks a few years back. Can the blueskyrati suggest better options to replace any of those I chose? Didn't love them all

Did quite well on Gardener's World plant recommendation bingo this evening. Astrantia, Salvias, Geums - got 'em. Weirdly pleased with myself.

This rose bush looks so ropey - all yellowing, black-spotted leaves - then it produces these glorious flowers, heavy with proper, old-rose scent that for some reason makes me think of my grandmother

Enchanted to learn that this year's much-improved bee population includes leaf-cutter bees. Bit sad they've made my Epimedium leaves into doilies. How many nest doors does this bee palace have?

Found this, still plastic-wrapped, tucked in a drawer I tidied out today. Cannot remember if it's a gift I received that I popped in there for safekeeping or one I bought to give someone else but I've ripped off the film and am playing it now and enjoying it hugely. Menopausal memory hole win

The leg to body ratio on NotMyCat1 is ridiculous

The kind of natural wonder that would have inspired worship in ancient times. A sight so awesome I dragged my mother out of her house and down the road to see it. She only came along to humour me, until she saw it, when she became exactly as excited as I was

I still have a lot to figure out about gardening but the one thing I thought I knew was that dead-heading was Necessary to Encourage Vigour but after falling behind I have learned that not dead-heading means these things happen

NotMyCat has a new collar. This time I've jotted down the mobile number before it gets ditched, just in case there's ever an injury to report, rather than a home invasion
