Odasaku hesitates about smoking in front of Dazai because he’s a minor, but the place he ends up taking Dazai that he absolutely shouldn’t die before seeing is Bar Lupin and he has no qualms about drinking whiskey with a minor. 🤔

I prefer my darkside!Dazai mostly offscreen thanks I just do not need to read torture scenes

I stupidly didn’t realize this was a Beast AU story and ended up staying up till midnight reading because I couldn’t go to sleep in the middle of Dazai torturing people. I would have skipped Side B if I had used context clues to figure this out (it’s literally called Side B.east I’m just dumb)

Although Oda’s not really at the level of “tactic,” he’s just throwing out best guesses and they seem to all be landing

in just the first 70 pages of this book Oda has treated Dazai’s wounds, tied him to a bed, made him coffee, beat him at cards, gotten kidnapped by baddies and escaped a cell with him, teased him with a reason to live, and is now soundly trouncing the baddies with their own stolen guns
