My 82nd read of 2025 is Before They Are Hanged by Joe Abercrombie. Part two of the trilogy and just so much damn fun to read. I say fun, even though a lot of people suffer and get killed.

My 81st read of 2025 is The Blade Itself, by Joe Abercrombie. Man oh man, just wonderful brutal fantasy. Four awesome gripping characters of dubious morality and I love every page.

My 80th read of 2025 is The Warlord of the Air by Michael Moorcock. Light breezy fun read. Even the shallowest Michael Moorcock book is still a great time.

My 79th read of 2025 is Blade of Tyshalle by Mathew Stover. Really great but so very dark fantasy. I guess technically it’s a science fiction and fantasy book at the same time. Either way, it’s surprisingly sticks the landing after so many pages of downbeats.

My 78th read of 2025 is Left Hand of Darkness by Ursula K le Guin. Not sure how I never read this one, but it was fantastic. I see why it is so highly valued.

My 77th read of 2025 is Operation London by William Meilke. Special Forces vs the Blob that Ate London.

My 76th read of 2025 is book 50 in the Longarm series, In the Big Bend. More sex than the last one I read but weirdly repetitive story. I lost count of how many times the hero gets betrayed, captured, escapes and then makes plans with new allies.

My 75th read of 2025 is the Postman by 2025. Really nailed the problem of toxic masculinity but at the same time, does some weird things with women characters.

🎶🎶
So I think it's time now
Time to reveal myself
I am the Messiah
I am the Messiah
Yes, I think you heard me right
I am the Messiah
I was gonna wait till next year
Build up the suspense a little
Make it a really big surprise
But I could not resist
It's like when you got a really big secret

My 74th read of 2025 is Memoirs Found Inside a Bathtub by Stanislaw Lem. Written in 1961, it’s about an underground dystopia dedicated to rooting out traitors, yet somehow very funny.

My 73rd read of 2025 is a biography of William Henry Harrison by Gail Collins. I wish it had more depth but then again, maybe you don’t need details on a 31 day President.

My 72nd read of 2025 is Turkey and the Wolf by Mason Hereford with JJ Goode. A recipe book that was lovely to read but will probably never make anything. I borrowed this book from the library, which kind of blew my mind, that I could borrow cookbooks. I feel like I unlocked a life hack.

My 71st read of 2025 is Operation: Sahara by William Meikle. I’ve said it before, but I will say it again: If you wanna read about non-toxic masculinity soldiers fighting against horrible monsters without the fascist overtones of most military fiction, then this is your series.

My 70th read of 2025 is The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald. I never read it in High School and it’s been in the news a lot so I figured I would dive in. It was surprisingly timeless.

My 69th (nice) read of 2025 is Paranoia WMD. This was the one XP supplement missing from my collection and is now super cheap on drivethru. It might be the darkest collection of adventures that I’ve ever read, but also had a part that made me laugh out loud.

My 68th read of 2025 is a reread of Service, Service from the Paranoia XP line. Just an absolute dense joy to read.

My 67th read of 2025 is a reread of the Paranoia XP RPG by Allen Varney. This is one of those games that is just fun to read. Although, I am considering finally running a campaign like I’ve been threatening to for a decade.

My 66th read of 2015 is Stay Alert by Allen Varney. I absolutely love the Paranoia RPG and I treasure the tiny scraps of fiction that have come out over the years.

Young people don't know how easy they have it!!! When I was young, the only thing I had to goon to was Venus Swimwear magazine. Even though I could buy this at my local quickie Mart, my parents banned me from having it lol

My 65th read of 2025 is a reread of Thomas Pynchon’s The Crying of Lot 49. It’s been nine years since I read this book and I enjoyed it more this time around because the madness of the current world feels like an introductory course for this book.

First purchase of Kinky Kollege.

A rare photo of all three cats together.

My 64th read of 2025 is Magic Realms: The art of Fighting Fantasy. The fighting fantasy books were a huge inspiration to me and it’s nice to have a book collecting all of the wonderful art.
