Revista Pokemon featured ads on the back of each issue. Starting with Issue #27 (Sep 2002), they briefly showed an ad for Pokemon Tetris.

Makes sense that they'd time the ad to coincide with the release date (Aug/Sep).

Further evidence that the Pokemon Mini came out waaay before Oct 2002 is an old Nintendo World Report article from Sep 2002 about the redesign of the Australian Pokemon website.
