not hating on it, I think it's a fantastic port and in regular gameplay it beats the PSX's graphics, plus the option to not use tank controls is ahead of its time

RE2 N64 has absolutely atrocious sound and fmv bc of cartridge size limitations, I wouldn't call it "without compromise"

been a while since I read the book but Frodo (?) and Sam use it a few times to get through Cirith Ungol, right? and it takes quite the toll on them, "the macguffin is super powerful but it comes at a cost" sounds like a classic trope
