Here's a link to the original essay.

And if you enjoy this one, I recommend the essay that I wrote to conclude the series, which has had the most traffic.

My father is STILL, a year later, slowly playing and judging these games, but this was *my* favorite.

Hell yeah, we love to see it.

What with all the universe slowly devouring artist’s work to feed angry robots, I have pulled most of my body of work off of the internet.
I should actually set up a proper portfolio.

DAY 1, GAME 7: This Frog is Ruining My Dungeon Crawl by @shoutingcrow.bsky.social is a silly and fun solo dungeon crawl game where you race to escape a failed dungeon raid, aided (and hindered) by a magical frog. A good quick play mix of story and strategy. @shoutingcrow.bsky.social

Tina started croaking about a year after I made that post, which means she is probably a he, so… we call him Tuna, now. But he’s still a miserable creature and we love him very much, thank you for saying hi!

That vigil is maybe the best example of bleed I have, by the way. Reconnecting with my spirituality through the game, both Augustus and myself holding a candle for the safety of a friend at once.

I mean— there was a bomb threat in the middle of it. I was IN FULL DAD MODE, in that moment.

Hi, Emi! I made a free zine series that is sort of adjacent to this subject, though it’s largely for black and white work: itch.io/c/5612213/pr...

But also, a thing I like to do is sit down with new folks in the industry and walk them through their first zine step by step over discord. DM me?

I wouldn’t have seen this if you hadn’t talked about it. Thank you! It looks rad.

Hell yeah, that’s what I like to see! Ink-lite QuickStarts are a great way to get a copy of the basics on the table for each player. Good design, mate.

I did, in fact, read the first post and think “how DOES a peahen walk when she needs to lay an egg?”
I was not disappointed by this thread. Thank you!
