Accessibility is not a joke. Sign Language is accessibility. Signing is not English with hands, it’s not the same as text. For many Deaf and Hard of Hearing people, sign language is their first, native, and sometimes only language. Providing accessibility in crisis briefings is a matter of safety.

Here’s a New Year’s Resolution:

Be on the side that reads books — not the side that bans them.
