Mario Kart World still paints the ”WORLD” letters with the same colors as they were in Super Mario World in 1990. Well, the D is now turquoise (better!) instead of the same green as the R, but it’s delightful to see such a signal from childhood.

Some things haven’t really changed. ❤️

Visiting parents for Mother’s Day I realized that I’m sitting in the same room as I did 26 years ago, now staring impressed at a download speed of 220,5 Mbps (shared hotspot from a cell phone). Back then I was totally excited that our modem did slightly more than *5 kilobits per second*. Crazy…

Honorable mention also to Yoda Stories. I actually own this game in physical 😅

Ignoring the dreadful Windows stock UI, the game core itself isn't bad. Missions designed & procedural, lots of SW gadgets with cute icons, classic sound effects and characters. It summons the old trilogy atmosphere!

Finished No Rest For The Living! Great episode. The gameplay is consistently just really fun and catchy. Hard to define why, but great monster usage at least. Tons of ammo to deal with them too, it's perfect.

Visually it's a bit too much "red castle/cave" IMO, but otherwise 5/5!

Making progress in No Rest For The Living 🤟 Look at the amount of enemies in Vivisection. The floor actually looks pretty gruesome after a few fights! You don't see this in Doom too often. I love this episode, it's classic action and so much fun! #Doom #ClassicFPS

I got a new monitor, and was able to play Doom at 280 FPS. That's over 4,66 times the amount of Doom per second than the average gamer gets.

I also died in No Rest For The Living map 5 because of a Hell Knight monster closet, but I did so at 280 frames per second

(For reference, the realest goosebumps come from Periphery albums like this one.)

I used to feel disappointed with this album, but a discussion with a friend last night led me to revisit the recent Periphery albums. And man, now Periphery V sounded different. It's now one of "the good Periphery albums" for me, even though it's not the old style which I would prefer. I'm grateful.

My brain instantly went to "Six decibels... More than enough to clip anything that peaks..."

I'm about to press Play on my all-time favorite band's new album, day one. These moments are holy and anxious - it's the next chapter, set in stone. Mike Portnoy is back on the drums, it's mixed by Andy Sneap, I'm excited... but will I truly like it? Will there be goosebumps? Can this be DT 2.0? 😰

The actual Puzzle Fighter 2.

Vanilla SF2 is peculiar in modern FG eyes since it’s such a hitbox fighter. You can’t really whiff punish or play real footsies, it’s more like knowing a bunch of weird tricks and capitalizing.

Especially against the CPU who obv cheats, but it’s a fun puzzle challenge!

Started #Doom episode No Rest For The Living last night for the first time. Really liking this ep so far, it’s well balanced for a fair challenge without going into monster infighting tactics etc. At least not yet.

Got 100% on 4th map! ✊

Had actually the coziest train rides today, going to band rehearsal. Early start, peaceful vibes, winter sceneries, no rush. ❄️
