I dare you to come up with a more cringe rebrand for heat pumps #2WayAC
January 28, 2026 at 6:03 PM
You hate to see it.

If you recently installed a furnace + 1-Way AC instead of a heat pump, why did you do it?

Ok, so there's a cool easter egg on our new heat pump group buy website.

It has something to do with this guy.

Can you find it?

Heat pumps are a great way to deal with the elephant in the room.
January 21, 2026 at 6:02 PM
A tale of two heat pumps.

If your only criteria when evaluating HVAC bids is cost, you might be setting yourself up for a world of hurt down the line.

Getting a heat pump can be scary!

It's a big part of why we've built with a digital-first sales process. For most customers, we're able to accurately price projects without ever stepping foot in their house.

One less excuse to take a sick day home from work...

Most small HVAC business owners aren't laughing their way to the bank.

It takes a lot to run a business like this - tools, equipment, salaries, insurance policies. All of that adds up.

If you get sticker shock when you get a heat pump quote, many times it's simply the cost of doing business

I love when we get 5 star reviews on Google.

But sometimes a handwritten note from a @vayu.pro customer is even more rewarding!

Another happy heat pump owner :)
January 12, 2026 at 8:24 PM
Being small is an unfair advantage.

Every single call, text and email at @vayu.pro‬ goes straight to my cell phone.

No call centers, no answering service.

In a world where most HVAC contractors never return your calls, it's a huge win.

(PS: Yes, I know, I'll charge my phone!)

In the 1950s, GE and Westinghouse backed a national program where builders earned a Gold Medallion for homes that were 100% electric: heat, hot water, cooking, lighting.

It was massive — 900+ utilities, 180 manufacturers. This was mainstream housing.

Ronald Reagan was the spokesman!

I had to double take when I spotted this plaque:

“Medallion Home — Live Better Electrically.”

Turns out it was part of a major national campaign in the 1950s and early 60s to promote all-electric homes.

Electrifying doesn't have to be hard.

That's my dinner last night, being cooked on an induction wok sitting on top of my gas range.

Just 50 bucks from Costco!

And zero CO, CH4, NO2, N2⁢O or CH2O (yes - your gas stove dumps all of those things into the air you breathe).

I want to start off my 2026 with a little gratitude - a big thank you to @energysmartwv.bsky.social!

Nate was an early booster of @heatpumped.org, encouraged me to start the podcast, and has been a steady supporter along the way.

He’s a HP veteran and I’m grateful that he took me under his wing!

Just noticed the other day that LinkedIn is doing this too (the exact text of those titles are nowhere in the post, and I have the privacy setting where they can use my data to train AI models turned off)

CHANGE YOUR HVAC FILTERS, FOLKS!

I had a customer give me a call that their heat pump wasn't heating as well as it used to. We scrambled the team to get a technician out there to inspect the system.

When I called back to confirm the visit, everything was already fixed. It was just a dirty filter!

I'll spare you the embarrassment of my personal Spotify Wrapped, but cool to see the stats for the @heatpumped.org podcast. First season of many!
December 4, 2025 at 1:38 AM
We did it! @heatpumped.org just passed 1,000 subscribers last week. But it's never too late to sign up for heat pump hot takes... Check it out here: buff.ly/kJGBnMJ

🧵Please, please, please. Don’t fall for the con of a Black Friday HVAC tune up deal. 🔌💡

I would love to be thankful for the 1,000 subscribers of @heatpumped.org today... But we're not quite there yet!

Can you help me make it happen?

Heat pumps can be a no brainer. But it requires trusted partners guiding homeowners thru the journey.

Finding that partner can be challenging, which is why I started @vayu.pro.

It was fun being on the latest episode of Less Talk More Action - check it out! lesstalkmoreaction.com/podcast/why-...

Something something installing heat pumps is harder than landing a rocket on a ship in the middle of the ocean

…Kidding

Incredible accomplishment to nail this, on the second try no less. Huge kudos to the Blue Origin team, proud to have played a teeny tiny part in this big win!

The future is all-electric!

That’s the chair of @calenergy.bsky.social walking the walk and electrifying their home!

This is the way for a clean, safe, efficient, energy independent home. Heat pump HVAC, water heater, and induction stoves are the magic trifecta to kick dirty gas to the curb

Oh well, let's try the chat. "We're sorry the team is assisting other customers". No option to wait for an agent.

30 minutes on hold later, I finally get a hold of an agent at an overseas call center, who emails me a checkout link. 10 seconds later, I finally have my replacement ordered.
November 7, 2025 at 5:24 PM
Let's talk about crummy customer experiences.

Yesterday, I got an email that my Peloton bike was recalled. To order the replacement part, I should either call their support number or use their online support portal.

Of course, it was from a do-not-reply email address...🧵
