This is easily one of my favorite books.
I'm so glad I picked up a review copy from BookSirens. I'm hoping I'll have a chance to grab a signed copy someday!

This romance is deliciously dark. I felt Levi's dread in the pit of my own stomach each time Asher backed him into a corner. That man is the definition of morally dark grey...I can't wait to see how he comes apart.

The horror game elements are so well-crafted; this story got its claws in deep. You better believe I've been taking notes and bouncing theories off my husband like I'm trying to unravel my new favorite ARG.

I highly recommend checking out all the rad character art Fox has dropped so far!

Thanks so much to the author for sending an advance copy my way. I'm leaving this review of my own accord.

The language blend of Japanese and French is very nostalgic for me...Reminded me of visual kei bands I loved growing up. (Shout out to Malice Mizer, Moi dix Mois and Versailles for raising me right.)

I also love the visual elements. The social media graphics are a great immersive touch.

I loved seeing Luka and Reno reconcile their wildest fantasies with the reality of building something real together.

Sometimes I traced threads of intergenerational conflict, colonialism, religious deconstruction, even ethical vegetarianism. Is this book trans? I think so! This book has a delightfully broad potential for interpretation that deserves to be lovingly dissected down to its filaments.

I spent my read suspended with the narrator in unsettling proximity to rightness but never quite settled. Sometimes I thought of puberty and the horror of violated bodily autonomy.

I had the most unsettling sense of closure coming undone when Buttons shatters his fragile peace. This thread carried through to the end of my read: I can't shake the feeling that Bustagut is forever only biding its time.

Sometimes I struggle to remember characters if I space a book out over some time, but these guys decided to live rent-free in my head.

Thanks so much to Thorne for writing great queer art.

...and discover the lengths they'll go to protect it.

Aden, Gage, and Travis stole my heart. They're each well-developed with their own distinct histories and arcs. Gage is so scarred he can be abrasive...which made getting to know him all the more rewarding.
