Sosososo excited to serve on the editorial board of Eating Behaviors! I’m so honored to experience this milestone in my academic bucket list!

Research from Scott Griffiths at #EDRS showing that more toxic ED content is delivered to people with #eatingdisorders. TikTok prioritizes time spent watching videos over actions like liking videos - so folks w/ EDs get more toxic content even if they aren’t interacting directly

Day one of #EDRS2025 in sunny/rainy Orange County ☀️🌧️ and my first as an EDRS member!! Becoming a member this year was definitely one of my #imadeit moments as an eating disorder researcher and I can’t wait to learn with and from so many amazing researchers!

You can tell I am in grant writing mode because tell me why I used the term "procedural exactness" in a casual text with a friend (in my defense she is a ceramics artist and I will argue it is an important skill in her field!!)

After 6 long years, 30+ scientific publications, 2000+ clinical hours, 40+ presentations, countless cups of coffee, and a wealth of love and support, I received my PhD in Clinical Psychology! So proud to be the first doctor in my family and excited for what the future brings 🌟 #PhDone

Bsky research friends! Does anyone have resources or examples of an F32 or K08 project that has proposed using existing data in addition to proposing a novel study? Any help is appreciated!

This week I started my new position as a T32 NHLBI Postdoctoral Research Scholar through University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine's Cardiovascular Behavioral Medicine Training Program! So excited to receive this specialized training on cardiometabolic research and eating behaviors!

Aah thank you so much! I'm so excited you'll be presenting as well! It was great to see you at ICED!

Also in the spirit of normalizing rejection - I also had several symposia rejected, including other research studies on weight stigma and suicide research among trans and gender diverse youth. I still think that research is so important and worth doing, but rejection is a ubiquitous part of academia

In the spirit of continued excitement and passion for sharing more on fat justice and anti fat bias efforts in the eating disorder space - so excited that our clinical roundtable on this was accepted at @abctnow.bsky.social #ABCT2025 this year! @connorelbe.bsky.social @drtiffanyabrown.bsky.social

#ICED2025 was one for the books! I was so excited that we had a full house for our panel on weight stigma, “feeling fat” across the size spectrum, and eating disorders. A great chance to connect/reconnect with other scientists and practitioners that care about eating disorder advocacy!

All of my symposia were rejected this year 🫠 but just when I was reaching radical acceptance about finally having a conference I can kick back and just go to talks I had a clinical roundtable accepted

Sadly they ended up being double booked haha, but they will be presented Friday 5/30 at 2:30pm! :)

We also found that individuals with worse interoception reported increased urges to binge eat as well as restrict. Overall, we found evidence that weight neutral approaches would be extremely helpful in disordered eating treatment settings and interoception is a promising treatment target

My dissertation study is now out *open access* at Appetite! We found that individuals with binge eating symptoms who were randomly assigned to be exposed to weight stigma engaged in *less* caloric consumption - many implications for social identity threat!

Testing Interoceptive Dysfunction as a Mediator of the Relation Between Weight Stigma and Disordered Eating
Interoceptive dysfunction could be one mechanism that facilitates the weight stigma-disordered eating association. Hence, the aim of this study was to…

My co-interns and their passion for their research are always inspiring to me! @laurenlaifer.bsky.social's new paper finds that both maternal and paternal factors across the perinatal period influence toddlers' emotion regulation. Definitely sharing this with all the dads in my life ❤️

Amid the seemingly endless stream of bad news, I'm thrilled to share something positive: my latest publication on the intergenerational transmission of emotion dysregulation across the perinatal period, out now in Research on Child and Adolescent Psychopathology!

Here's what we found🧵

So excited to hear that my dissertation paper was accepted at Appetite!! Stay tuned for when the paper is in press to read more about how experiences of weight stigma contribute to both binge eating and restriction risk 👀

Aah just seeing this, congrats Wes!
