Rereading Euripides, I think again about how his contemporaries could reject him. One reason, no doubt, was the way he portrayed women and gods, often blaming them for human misfortunes.

classical philosophy is not only still interesting and usable, it is the only viable path forward to say anything of any profound interest at all in a postmodern context

and there was much, much better political philosophy to come out of classical athens, stuff that actually made points
