When the game is Metroid Prime it is very good. When the game is Yooka-Laylee it is very much not good.

I've let the game cook in my mind some more. It is pretty enjoyable but has some weirdly not great parts. Not as good as prime 1 or 2, which is a shame, but it was still a pretty fun game (I have some more to clean up)

Hot take: there should be half as many missile expansions and double shot expansions. The elemental shots are so much cooler than missiles

I do believe that several blood sacrifices and rituals were completed to get this game running this good on Switch 1
