Been there, done that. Exhilarating. Very cosmopolitan mixture of people. Wish all places were such a rich mix of culture.

I bravely ventured into a real Turkish bath in Selçuk. I was skinned alive. That was exhilarating too.

I'd note, from UK, like everywhere, it's only those at the top and those they sanction who are culpable. Those who are aghast at such cruelty, ought not to be defined by those who care nothing for human beings. We have a duty to speak up though, and protest.

Inequality is something a healthy human knows is wrong. Those who aren't conscious or caring of its effect - often dismissed as jealousy - blame the victims. I believe Musk level greed/entitlement/arrogance/unrestrained ambition, suppresses the sense of justice we are [mostly] born with.

You're right, it validates his position - to his supporters - but also identifies foreign supporters who no doubt put aside opposition to a leader's policies but think it prudent to court them for favours/protection only a dictator gives. It's Mafia terrorism. Fight at your own risk.
