The “intend to buy both” statistic is interesting, if not totally surprising. Battlefield scratches an itch that most Call of Duty players don’t care for.

That doesn’t mean Battlefield 6 isn’t going to convert a lot of COD fans though. I expect it to do very well.

Couple fun US stats from Circana's PlayerPulse (n=5.1k):

Battlefield 6 purchase intenders are 79% male, 47% aged 18-34, 55% play on PC, and 56% intend to also buy Black Ops 7.

Black Ops 7 purchase intenders are 63% male, 32% aged 18-34, 47% play on PC, and 24% intend to also buy Battlefield 6.

this is obviously hyperbole, but for real, unless you are already deeply embedded as a freelancer with an outlet, it is virtually impossible to get commissioned right now

nobody is working with anyone outside of their limited circles, and it's making the crit coming out of games media way worse.

I have no intention of playing Battlefield 6, but I’m glad it exists. The concessions that Call of Duty has made to players in recent months highlight the importance of competition.

I’m genuinely shocked. COD players have fought against SBMM for over five years, and most had given up on things ever changing.

Whether it's Battlefield 6 or the pressure to deliver after the recent “COD on Game Pass” report, Activision has hit the panic button.
