it's always good to remember how sad you'd feel if the artists you loved just threw in the towel. it's a huge means of making connections and it keeps us sane and makes us feel less alone. you're doing good work that, in the abstract, has probably saved some lives!

in my heart, I know I should keep pushing. the work I do is all about bridging cultural divides. that's needed, especially as america barrels into extreme isolationism. art is conversation in a universal language. we have to keep talking to each other. I won't give up, but wow. I'm very sad!

I feel silly even complaining about this, but it's been hard to really put my all into my usual passions with my country coming apart at the seams. nothing I love to do really feels important anymore and it makes sitting down to write so hard.
