I did that with one of my games a few years ago. Jumped from $5 to $2 and sales increased in the long run (not directly though). Overall it was really beneficial but certainly can be super risky.

It's a little known fact that I don't like my own games anymore after release. Only exceptions are beeny, 50% of the main part of Super Kiwi and the first ice level in Toree 3D.

Might also help that 3D is kinda its own thing while Saturn just feels like a random Sonic Fangame.
