According to records the windy weather in Shetland since Wednesday was mostly near gale force 7, only occasionally reaching gale force 8. This was enough for NorthLink to cancel its sailings for three nights while, over that period, flights at Sumburgh airport continued and nearly all were on time.

As was suggested on SIBC, it has been confirmed that 333 metre very large crude carrier Bella-1, renamed Marinera, under UScommand and currently bunkering and taking on stores off Burghhead, is to be taken to the United States, probably off Galveson to join other seized VLCC and Afromax tankers.
