That pastor 100% deserved to be challenged in front of his congregation who see him as their connection and conduit to god. The betrayal is especially amazing from a religion that tells you to love thy neighbor and show charity to the poor.
They do have super fancy private jets these days though.

If the leader of the mosque is currently participating in the torture and abduction of local people then absolutely.
Religious institutions need to quit shielding assholes who operate contrary to the teachings of said religion while preaching it at everyone else.
