i don't think it's really bad to do things in art just bc they're interesting or new, it's good actually and i like it. they're neat ideas. but i really don't like how most of them make the game actually feel to play so far. losing your whole silk bar and not even getting the heal feels terrible lol

it seems like a lot of the changes or new ideas in this game so far aren't really motivated by thinking they would be good but by thinking they would be interesting or novel. i think in the end when i have the full kit it will probably gel more but so far it just feels kind of haphazard and annoying

i think this works in conjunction with the way healing was changed to really disincentive using the javelin move which is also kind of thin and hard to aim anyway, but consequently im either taking wasteful heals for 1 point or just "wasting" silksoul. i guess this leads into my next thought:

i think this is most apparent in the little arena rooms that pop up, since it's pretty easy to end up having to repeat a long fight that takes awhile to run back to if you mistime heal since ur already below 2 health and suddenly u don't have the juice anymore. but also in the fourth chorus fight

i wish i had the original version everyone complained about
