Who shall be our Robespierre? Down with the mad king and his puppet president. (FDR progressive doctor with chickens). ♿️🏳️‍🌈🇧🇷🇨🇮🎓🐓
Not the Susquehanna Hat Company! 😉

Precisely. And any military officer who takes that oath must be reclassified as an enemy of the New American Republic that will form from some or all of the ashes of what is left.

It isn’t unprecedented. It is the Führer’s Oath Part 2.

Seems to me there are limited possibilites:

(1) an Hitlerian loyalty oath JUST as Hitler did with his generals (likely);
(2) the start of martial law;
(3) mass firing; or
(4) a war.

There aren’t really many options beyond these I suspect.

A reckoning will come. Not soon enough but it will.

I don’t get a vote but if I did, you’d have it! Scotland is way way way better than Brexit. Good luck! Pulling for you.

Right on. Buy local. Support your neighbors. I have too much stuff from family passed on and am giving it away. As the phrase used to go, live simply so others might simply live. No aid or comfort to the billionaire class.

I love the traveling wilburys because it is sweet to hear both their unique voices shine solo and harmonize so well together. That generation could sing. Using the human instrument. They didn’t need all the electronic corrections so many depend on presently to cover a lack of talent.

It is getting hard to exist with boycotts of virtually everything for one good reason or another. This is why we must do this together. Shut them all down. General strike. We can exist longer than they can without their serf population. But that won’t happen as americans have no fire anymore.

It depends on the term and which body. For the first term the senate was GOP and the house Democratic. That changed in his second term. Despite composition it saw the GOP move further right and the Democrats also move further to the right. It was the end of the new deal/great society.

Exactly. In fact they did remarkably better. They always do under progressive administrations. A high tide has always raised all ships until Reagan. At that point policy reverted to one where the only ones that mattered were those surfing on top of the wave. Everyone else? Drown & be done with it.

Harlech and Corfe. My absolute favourites. Oh to be there today.

And while I speak portuguese I do not speak french, so that is not advantageous in a nation that is happily bilingual.

I have seen them. Most are interested in big names (like the anti fascists) or folks associated w/ hard sciences. Although statistics is a hard science there is little demand for an American statistics professor. I get it. Why hire externally when Canadian academics are there? Still, for me, sad.

Who promotes violence on a daily basis - the right. Live by the sword…

These aren’t “political disagreements” however. These are existential

Tenure does not save a job. It gives you some academic freedom protection back in the day but little else. The contract, if you have a collective bargaining agreement, is what sort of protects you and requires a process for termination.

I would be there yesterday but universities won’t hire a 60 yo professor. They want younger blood. Alas.

The United States are already lost. The way forward is a New American Republic minus the confederacy. That isn’t going to happen with voting. We had that chance for peaceful change. We blew it or let the oligarchs steal it. The US is already gone. Most just don’t understand that or care.

If they receive the money it will be a bribe not a bailout. Living in rurality, I know with certainty, these folks will be on the street with a tin cup and still vote for the felon. They deserve their fates. They don’t deserve a taxpayer bailout.
