Whichever method is used, it’s not a reflection on you or your work. It’s an imperfect, subjective process.

Actors know that not getting a part is more common than getting a part.

Sometimes casting agents (publishers) are asked to put forward people they think are best suited for the specific job in hand (pitches). Sometimes the director already knows exactly who they want to cast and goes directly to those people.
