I’m just speculating as to why 26 may feel more futuristic. Futuristic concepts feel unfamiliar and 26 just really gets left out of the stories we learn about numbers when we’re young

26 is the product of two primes, one being 13. 27 is the product of a square (9) and a prime. Also, when we learn our basic multiplication tables in 3rd grade, 27 is a product in our tables and 26 isn’t, making 26 feel less familiar than 27. And then when we learn our primes, again 26 is left out

I hope people are watching Ken Burns’ American Revolution. Black and Indigenous Americans fought side by side with European descendants on Bunker Hill. It was the New England regiments that were mixed until George Washington came into the picture. Although he soon realized he needed brown people too

I’m reading Fever in the Heartland about the rise of the KKK in Indiana in the 1920s. We need to stop the repeated cycle of Confederate grievances over the loss of the Civil War on our nation once and for all !!!!! They succeeded in pushing their grievances into the North. Finish it once and for all
