Generally speaking, we subsidize families because we want people to afford to have kids. Young Canadians already struggle with that. Now, I'm not making an argument in favour of 3-bed requirements, but family subsidies must exist.

That's why, if I'm elected Mayor in 2026, the Social Housing Initiative will be one of the first things back on the docket. Right alongside the budget in our first Council session. This isn't complicated, we just need leadership that gets it.

The spec tax reduces unwanted demand.

If say I wanted to buy a home and make $$$ in just a few years of doing nothing with it, I'd be less interested in doing this with this tax, which is good.

Building more housing causes prices to fall, which is what BC NDP is doing by making munis change zoning and deliver new homes. But more can be done.

When you have a spot to store your bike, it likely can be used to maintain it as well.

Wipe the chain with a rug, put some lube on, spin the pedals.
