Whenever you see it, you instantly know that they are the kind of person who has forgotten the joy of a good cheeseburger.

I’ve actually got my own theory about this…
Basically, when he fended off possession, I think that he was ordained as an avatar of humanity.
And by that, I don’t mean a “good guy“, I mean that he is profoundly human.
Lazy, eager to shift blame, loves to party… but ultimately does the right thing.

Good stuff. I’m noticing a lot of things out of Ireland over the last decade or two that have been really great.

Yup. It was a vampire, as I recall?
Trying to remember it…
Moody fucking thing.
Liked it.

*tape recorder begins playing in an abandoned foundry as ‘Hello Zep’ begins playing
“Dana Montrell, for years you have been the CEO of PretryLitter.
You have profited millions off of that which comes out of cats.
But today, it’s finally your day to give something back.”

Genuinely enjoy this, and I feel that this series and alien are really starting to hit their stride. They got a crowd pleaser out of the way, and now they can experiment a little bit with stuff that neither series has done before.

I blew off a college course, and when a lady cut in line to buy the last one and I called her out, she made the deadly mistake of appealing to me not to ruin Christmas for her kids.
Sorry, lady, but FUCK yo kids.
Perfect Dark Zero for the WIN.

Or, more likely, that when there is something unusual in their surroundings, people are far more likely to pay attention to and react to things in their environment as a survival trait and psychological means of asserting control over factors beyond their agency.

Proving at least one of two things.
One, people are kinder when a heroic figure of authority is present.
Two, people are kinder when the threat of an extrajudicial punch in the face for being an asshole as present.

Which is strangely hilarious given that I always dinged the Arnold film for not being like the book.

I love how the supernatural element of the story remains in the background. It’s never about whatever the hell is now inhabiting the basement. It’s another motivator to get the fuck out, but it never becomes the focus of the story.

You’ve actually got a good point. I do think that practical effects generally look better, and CG is a tool best used for situations where something can’t be created in the real world without putting somebody’s life at risk, but some people throw that around as an excuse not to like anything.

I don’t mind writing. A father, absolutely desperate to please his child and unable to find a LaBuBu in time for a Christmas season, begins using crude means to perform dangerous plastic surgeries to turn himself into the beloved toy.

Especially if acknowledging why means acknowledging that it will be received badly because you have been a colossal Choad.

Dracula gets a lot of credit, but of the two books that were spawned from the same event, Frankenstein is the better written. It has pathos, and some of the most brilliant quotes in science fiction, even to this day.

I love the idea that he got ‘3 Days of the Condor’d’.
Basically was making a movie that painted Superman as the good guy and Lex as the bad guy, and so he wound up trapped in a pocket dimension.

Shit, just do what they did in the good old days. Have some developer shout the lines. Wolfenstein 3-D, one of the devs just looked up some random German phrases and put on a crappy accent, and that shits a classic.

That one DOES take the cake, but of the OG era, yeah… STRONG argument for this one.
