Then, there are the “real life” voyeuristic shows, which also may not be all bad. Early ‘Real World’ gave tweenage me both my first understanding of a gay person (Pedro) and a good look at early adult relationships, both functional and dysfunctional.

Reality is complex, no? First, there are games, which can be reasonably wholesome (Amazing Race) to machiavellian by design (Survivor), but they are still just games.
