I'm not a man, but I play one on TV

Any/All (if you call me He/Him it means you're gay)
They also capitalized "straight" for some reason.

Somebody tried to sneak the sentence "He is also best known for generating art in his own art style using AI" into Matt Groening's Wikipedia page.

1) The Popeye Chapter Titles
Yes. This is #1. Holy shit, these were rough. Lining up the original titles, getting it to track right as it tracks in, cutting out Popeye's head frame-by-frame, adding a new "toot" for each chapter. Dammit I'm proud of these.

2) After I played Caliban in The Tempest, a couple I've never met before came up to me and demanded to buy a beer for "The Turtle." I know this is a small thing to be so high up on the list, but learning that strangers are emotionally moved by the stuff I do is the reason that I keep making art.

3) Starring in the centerpiece film at SF Queer Film Festival. I've got more info about CUTAWAYS coming soon, but for the time being, I'll just say that I'm very proud of my work.

4) Who's that Pokémon / What Does Any Of This Mean?
This joke took so long to make, but I kept telling myself that it was worth the investment because I would be able to use it again in later videos. Will I ever use it again? Who knows!

5) I got to meet Don Mancini at Queer Screams in Portland. When I told him that the name of our film was "DEMON TWINK" he said that he had to explain to an actor on the CHUCKY TV show what a Twink is. I don't know who it was, but I like picturing him try to describe a Twink to Brad Dourif.

7) Popeye's Simpsons History
While I was working on this section, I thought it would be fun to use the "spinach rag" as background music. I realized that I was basically making a RealJims video, so I just leaned into it. Jims actually ended up finding this video and (thankfully) liked it.

8) I worked really hard at getting the right kind of physicality down for playing the ghost in Hamlet. I started by pulling from Tarman and built out from there. It was exceptionally validating afterward when someone told me they "didn't know the human body could move like that"

11) "I Consenct"
I love hiding jokes inside of other jokes, and there was something about deciding to write "I consent" in Popeye's voice that made me laugh really hard.

The #1 movie from when you were 10 years old is how your 2026 will go.

Looks like I'm in for a fun year.

Why does a phone case need AI? How does a phone case use AI? Why does it end with a joke about holes?

Damn. Amber Canyon sounds fun, but I was really hoping for a haunted castle.

I like that the Simpsons this week was just kind of a low-stakes "let's go camping and learn how to hug" episode. It's also always good to see more of Maya. If they wanted to, they could easily get a whole episode out of exploring Moe's weird family tradition.

I grew up with the ones like this, which also sucked ( I think plastic is just very bad material for flip coins). But their solution was to make them even larger and more awkward.

Nice to see that the Pokémon TCG has continued their proud tradition of making the least flippable coins possible.

Ditto trying its best to be a human, but ultimately becoming some kind of monster that even scares other Pokémon really hit home for me for some reason.

One of the Christian guys with a loudspeaker at Santa Monica Pier called me the f-slur today, and I'm even really mad. Kind of impressed, actually. Like, how did he know?
