Really liked the decision to ditch all the over the top vfx in Oguri and Tamamo's final dash, relying solely on the sound of their footsteps alongside Kenji Kawai's warm strings. It was no longer a fierce struggle for power, just two rivals side by side who love racing more than anything

Nice live performance at the end, directed/storyboarded/edited by Takanari Hirayama 平山 孝成. The clever lighting work and night setting help hide the rough bits in the 3D-aided animation while also giving the sequence an impactful staging the previous lives lacked by design

The thick inky sketchy linework that at times desyncs with the rest of the drawing, those jagged exaggerated smears, even the placement of eye highlights. Keen eyes will also spot the tasteful references to his iconic cuts from RTTT and Leaf's movie and point at the screen like a maniac (me)

She's the best, glad someone wrote a full manga about her, the world needed to know there were greater heights of fatass yet to be reached

Quite personal episode too, exploring regret, hang-ups, and what-if scenarios (to the point the whole episode becomes one), mainly from Symboli Rudolf's perspective as she navigates those emotions to uphold meritocracy and the derby's ideals. An aspect that is constantly reflected in its framing
